This year was the second ERR Half Marathon Event, it was a huge success! It is scheduled for the 23rd November 2013, the numbers will be capped at 500 so the race keeps its charm. It is the biggest running event in the Selwyn District. Entries open, 1st August 2013.
'The Ellesmere Road Runners' was formed by Leeston Physiotherapy in 2011 for people to get together and run in a fun atmosphere.
Leeston Physiotherapy also wanted to provide the community with a weekly event for locals to come and exercise with people at their own ability. ERR has a weekly Wednesday night run. The Wednesday night run is handicapped to ensure that you run with people at your own level. more info
The Ellesmere Road Runners is a totally community-based project. Local sports people/groups can apply for sponsorship from the fund created by the gold coin entry fee for Wednesday night runs and the proceeds from the annual Half Marathon Event.
